Emotional intelligence is the foundation skill for influencing and managing/leading ourselves and others, whether we are a leader or team member. It is a skill that can be learnt and improved through self-awareness, motivation, and applying the practical skills covered in this course.

During the course, you will hear insightful presentations, have the opportunity to complete confidential self-assessments, participate in discussions, and knowledge-sharing with your fellow participants and be able to ask lots of questions.

Exactly what is emotional intelligence?

Explore what emotional intelligence is and why it’s so important! You will learn precisely how and why it will have such a dramatic and positive impact on every aspect of your life!

The four critical elements to becoming more emotionally intelligent

Emotional intelligence consists of four skills you can learn and develop… it’s not magic, but it does work like magic when you know how to use it. We provide you with awareness and management strategies to ensure you are set up for a positive emotional shift.

How to recognise and respond well to others and their emotions

We are all individuals; understanding why someone feels a certain way or is more emotional than you isn’t easy, but it’s an excellent quality to have. In this session, you will learn how to identify emotions in others and what to do (and not to do) about it!

The importance of recognising your emotions as they arise

Our emotions have a major influence on the decisions we make, which means recognising your emotions as they arise is crucial. In this important session, you will be guided on how to notice your emotions and how recognising them will improve your decision making.

Why emotional intelligence often matters more than IQ

Understand how, when, and why emotional intelligence can be more important than IQ

How to manage your emotions rather than them managing you!

By your emotions managing you, you can feel like you have no control over people, situations, or yourself. Within this session, you’ll be provided with techniques to gain control and mindfully manage your emotions.

How to develop and maintain constructive relationships with others

You may think, “I’m great with meeting people” or “I have plenty of friends”, but being able to create and maintain quality relationships is easier said than done. In this final session, you will gain the secrets to quality relationships; and the do and don’ts!

This course is conducted with an interactive and engaging style that incorporates a variety of teaching methods, including:

  • Content presentation
  • Group discussion
  • Question and answer sessions
  • Learning activities
  • Self-assessments
