About Our Guest Speaker:

Lord Mayor, Cr. Sally Capp

Sally Capp was born in Papua New Guinea and spent her early childhood in New Guinea before moving to Melbourne with her family. Sally is the first directly-elected female Lord Mayor of the City of Melbourne. She was the first woman to hold the post of Agent-General for Victoria in the UK, Europe, and Israel, and she has also served as the CEO for the Committee for Melbourne.

After completing Law (Hons) and Commerce degrees at the University of Melbourne, Sally graduated and practised as a solicitor.

Sally has worked in businesses big and small, including senior roles at both KPMG and ANZ. Her entrepreneurial spirit resulted in a small business she co-founded to be floated on the ASX. Prior to moving into local government politics, she was the Victorian Executive Director of the Property Council of Australia.

A passionate Collingwood supporter, in 2004, she made history as the first female board member of Collingwood FC. She is involved in a number of charities, currently sitting on the board of the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute, the Mary Jane Lewis Scholarship Foundation, and the Melbourne University Faculty of Business and Economics.
